A purebred floppy-drooler. Delicate skin and digestive system despite size, achy bones. Notwithstanding wishful thinking background as a guard dog, poor alertness, poor nerves, not actually easy to train. If a 'hunting' dog, then can hunt...if the prey stands still and it's a cool day. Many will be shy, reactive or both.
Fortunately, will be old by six and dead by eight.
"BLOOD" Dane. A great dane that has been made into a "Mastino" dog, with all the issues and problems that follow. How sad that this is where our breed, was starting to make leaps and bounds in longevity, is getting set back. Truly, these bodies from "Blood" danes have no choice but to give out way sooner than their spirits will. Shame on these "Breeders" for perpetuating short and miserable lifespans for profit.
Isn't that a Bashar i.e. the Basset Shar Pei hybrid monstrosity that is currently "trending"?! I find this particularly painful as I grew up with Bassets in the family, back in the 70s when they were still fit for purpose (well at least ours were). Poor soul. :(
Heartbreaking to see a puppy with chronic entropion. It doesn't want to even open its eyes. Just heartbreaking. Even its nostrils look all blocked up. Imagine being born suffering!!!
I think its a Neapolitan Mastiff and not even a very extreme type.
I cant imagine anyone wanting to put that on any breed.
Neopolitan Mastiff?
ReplyDeleteThat was my guess too.
ReplyDeleteEyeless Squinchworm?
ReplyDeleteCane Corso?
ReplyDeleteI tell you what the poor pup is, "F--ked up!"

ReplyDeleteI thought it was a Shar Pei until I realised that the ears weren't right.
ReplyDeleteSo, Neapolitan Mastiff. Looks like the pup has its eyelids tacked like the Shar Pei do.
Poorly bred Great Dane.
