Online for the first time: the 2012 sequel to Pedigree Dogs Exposed

Well, now seemed like a very good time.... ;-)

There has been further reform since this film. The Kennel Club has beefed up its efforts to educate on genetic diversity and it has given breeders new tools to help them avoid inbreeding.

There's no doubt we've come a long way since 2008.

But there is still such a long way to go - and particularly when it comes to the brachycephalics which feature strongly in this follow-up. Nothing really has changed for them - and if anything, things have got worse.

Hopefully, that is shortly going to change.

    1. Yah isn't strange but Vimeo has never worked for me! Can only think it's a problem with the version of my operating system, or copyright laws....which means any other system challenged viewers or those outside a certain jurisdiction could be experiencing the same problem. Is it on UTube?

  3. Perhaps it's time for part 3 and an even more detailed examination of the issues with brachycephalic breeds. In 2012, when you made the follow-up, the trend for Frenchies hadn't taken off and we've also seen a rise in pug ownership. Additionally, as you've said elsewhere, the widespread use of these breeds in marketing and in designs on cushions etc has made them even more desirable as living accessories.
Would a crowd funding site work, to raise money for part 3, and link it to your new campaign? I'm sure you'd get a lot of support.

    1. Agreed! I would love to see another part to this documentary, especially if it tackled more issues regarding breed purity and kennel blindness.

    2. Jemima may be the single greatest advocate for ethical dog breeding practices. Maybe it is time for a third documentary at that.
